MOTHERS DAY DEDICATION
“A WOMAN IS ALWAYS A MOTHER!”
“In the material world, we
are only able to see a very infinitesimal part of the true reality of things,
so we call many feelings one can have, by the name of ‘love.’ ”
“Also, how many times the
passions of earth are no more than painful expiations or, the settlement of old
debts and terrible obsessions, in which almost always, the spirit is defeated
during these trials.”
“It is usually the woman who
ends up suffering the most because she is the most sensitive, passionate,
forgives sooner, and it takes her longer to forget these situations. That is
why I have no doubt in affirming that ‘women
always are mothers’ because the women always feel love no matter what.”
“As a little girl, she is the
mother of her dolls, as a young girl she is the mother to the flowers and the
animals which she lovingly cares for, and when she loves a man, she is like his
mother, because no matter how disagreeable he is, she always forgives him. Even
when she recognizes his faults, she feels sorry for him and pardons him…”

MEMORIAL DAY
Written
by Yvonne Crespo Limoges
On Memorial Day we commemorate
the lives and memories of the soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
Other countries do so as well.
At spirit sessions, we see and
hear from these spirits that are in many types of conditions (that have been
brought to us to communicate from the spirit world), from different conflicts
and different countries from around the world. Some of these spirits are even from
battles and wars that have occurred decades in the past.
Some spirits don’t know what
has happened to them, and all they can perceive is that they are injured. Some
ask us to tell them when they can go home to see their families. Others tell us
they know their situation, and tell us they will go back to where the skirmish
or battle occurred to help their (spirit) comrades still there, who are dazed
and confused, and where time has stopped for them. Sometimes, spirits come to
us in a group still following their commanding officer, who will usually be the
one that will communicate.
We evaluate each situation to
determine what will make sense to them, in order to help them realize where
they are, so they can move on to a better place in the spirit world. If they are
too confused or upset, how wonderful that we as mediums can see they are
lovingly taken away, mostly by spirits recognized by them as relatives to
places where they can be healed.
Finally, many of these “soldier”
spirits plead for the end of violence and war, insisting love and peace is the
only way for humanity to permanently solve disputes.
CHANGE
Spirit communication by Alysia Pape
Every person has his or her own world that they live in: mentally, emotionally, and physically. Change in a person's world can upset the balance they have had in their life. Even though people know change happens, some are still afraid of it, such as from the death of a loved one, the loss of a home, or catastrophic event.
But, everyone should have
faith. There is no reason to fear change. God knows what is best for everyone.
Fear is a mind lost in, “what if?”
Everyone should keep under
control panicked or worrisome thoughts.
Think back to a major change
that has happened to you, how did everything turn out when all the dust
settled?
Change is needed for numerous
things! Like evolution, the fall and rise of civilizations, moral growth,
spiritual growth (to name a very few examples) - all of these things either for
a single soul, a small group, or en masse.
Even if not believed, change is
mostly for the good. The effects of a “change event” might be very fast, take a
small amount of time, or possibly take a lifetime.
God and the good spirits watch
over everything and help us on our spiritual path, so have faith that whatever
change has happened or might be happening now, is for the best.
ROADS
Written by Narciso Trevilatto
In the ultimate instance…in the very end…all roads
lead us to LOVE.
MEDITATE
Written by Julie L. Harper
Connect to your internal essence by silencing the illusions of the
outer world, and go within.
Time spent on spiritual nourishment holds great value far beyond
material-world concerns.
Focus on your life-force connection where you will meet sublime
sentiments of acceptance, love, and peace by aligning yourself with the
Creator.
May we all maintain the practice of meditation to become
personally and collectively centered in love and universal truths, for as
within, so it is reflected outward.
One-by-one, we may very quietly but most powerfully better our
lives and the world we live in.
SPIRITUAL
NOURISHMENT
Inspirationally received by Yvonne Crespo Limoges
The Oxford on-line Dictionary
defines meditation as:
“1) Think
deeply or focus one’s mind for a period of time, in silence or with the aid of
chanting, for religious or spiritual purposes or as a method of relaxation to ponder; 2) think deeply; and; 3) plan mentally.”
Some people meditate to reach
what they feel is a higher spiritual mental state. Some people go to beautiful
places in nature to seek benefit of a contemplative experience. Some enjoy the
loving and comforting companionship of animals. Some people obtain inner
spiritual tranquility and harmony through quiet, sincere and mindful prayer. And,
mediums can experience deep feelings of peace, solace and inner spiritual joy through
thoughtful communications with their loving spirit guides, receiving serious messages
of moral guidance, inspiration and consolation.
The most important thing to recognize
is we have a psychic nature which needs spiritual nourishment for the soul to help
fulfill its ultimate purpose – to evolve.
LAW
OF ATTRACTION
Spirit
communication by Alysia Pape
People
tend to gravitate towards others that are involved with the same things they
like. If two people tend to disagree on a lot of things, then they typically do
not end up doing things together, and part ways.
It
is exactly the same for the spirit world and the material world. Everything
done, said, or thought, will attract the same kind of spirits.
If
one likes to smoke, then spirits (in the spirit world) who smoked when here in
the material world will hang around, urging one to smoke more or for longer.
The same with anything – good or bad; eating, drinking, gambling, painting,
writing, music (to be even more specific even the type of music).
As
Spiritists, we know we should try to control our actions, words, and thoughts.
Granted
there are times when some things will try to set you off into a bad mood.
Someone may say a mean thing, but try to ignore what was said. Ask God to
forgive them, as you must forgive them. Another example, a wife or husband
might leave and divorce their partner, but do so in a malicious way. The other
party should not fall into hate for their ex-partner, but forgive them and pray
that they might change their ways. Ask God to forgive them as well.
There
are many things in daily life that might set different people off into bad
moods. No coffee, bad coffee, traffic in the morning or an afternoon commute to
and from work, a vacation might be cancelled, a paper cut, or perhaps a cold.
Take
some deep breaths, and ask: will getting mad, moody, or irate help this
situation? No, it will not.
Not only will upset, mad or
mischievous spirits be attracted to you, they may also perhaps keep bad feelings
lingering longer than it would have been. It also could be passed on to those
around you here in the material world; from you and from those spirits as well.
Prayer can help with moods by
asking God and the good spirits to assist us to remain calm and help us forgive
others.
God asks that as all of us go
along, that we do the best we can in every way in all actions, words and
thoughts.
Keep your mind on good
thoughts and forgiveness; it is a much easier path to travel in life.
SPIRITUAL VIBRATIONS
“An evil thought produces a vibrationary current which
causes an unpleasant impression. A good thought encompasses us with a very
agreeable emanation. This is the reason for the different sensations which are
experienced by the approaching of a friend or an enemy…”
(Excerpt from chapter 12 in The Gospel according to Spiritism,
published by Allan Kardec, and translated from the French by Janet Duncan.)
A PRAYER FOR THOSE WHO ARE SICK
Written by Yvonne Crespo Limoges
Dear God, I am not well…
If whatever illness or illnesses I have be of a spiritual nature may any spirits involved be taken from my side if it be Your Will, and have mercy upon them. May they please forgive me if I have caused them any harm in this life or a past one.
If my illness or illnesses be of a physical nature, may I receive, if it be Your will, spiritual healing either to cure me and/or to ease my suffering.
However, if I must suffer as a test or trial, and since I
know that all suffering has a just cause,
please help me to have the strength to sustain myself with strong faith and
calm resignation, knowing that we are never given a heavier burden than we can
handle. Please Bless me, and may my spirit guides uphold me! AMEN
WHAT SPIRITISM OFFERS
Inspirationally received by Yvonne Crespo Limoges
I am 59 years old now and have
been speaking to others throughout my life about my beliefs since I was a young
girl. No matter what religion or philosophy people profess to have, most
believed in a few, if not most of the basic principles of Spiritism.
People believe, even more so
now, in the reality of spirits, mediumship, spiritual healing, in some kind of
afterlife, near death experiences, spirit obsession, and reincarnation; most because
of the media. However, this is only about belief
in the “phenomena.” However, what does it all mean?
Spiritism answers this
question. It provides a detailed explanation about all the phenomena above with
an all encompassing perspective and with a time-tested process on how to effectively
work in this field with a set of ethical standards, and, which also reveals a rational
moral philosophy that one can live by.
Clearer knowledge has
consistently been forthcoming from the spirit world providing important
information for humanity, like: where we come from; the purpose of material
life; about the existence of our material and spiritual evolutionary path; and,
that there exists a universal moral code that provides a guideline for us to progress.
Hopefully, more people in
general, will now enter a new phase where they might focus more on what moral lessons the spirits are teaching
…using good common sense and wise judgment.
Personal responsibility is one of the
most important principles the spirits teach us.
I have found some people that
come and listen at Spiritist groups, and don’t return because they are
uncomfortable with how responsible we all are in life. They now understand they
should make some changes; but this can be very difficult. However, all humans
are very imperfect! All we can do is try…
And, God is All Love. The law
of progress provides all will change, whether slower or faster, progressing each
according to our own individual capabilities, effort and merit, throughout many
lifetimes.
WHEN VIOLENCE OCCURS
IN FAMILIES
In the news,
parents have murdered their own children. Could it be madness, obsessive spirit
influences, and/or are they acting out hatred of enemies they knew in past lives?
And, what of the (spirits) children whose lives were cut short? – Y.L.
“The parents do not create the spirit of the child;
they do nothing more than supply the material wrapping, although it is their
duty to help the intellectual and moral development of their child, in order to
further its progress.”
“Those incarnated in the same family, especially as
close relations, are as often as not congenial spirits linked by past [life] relationships,
which express themselves during their earthly lives by their reciprocated
affections.”
“But it can also happen that these people [other incarnated
spirits] are complete strangers to each other, or they may be distant from each
other, due to past aversions which while on Earth, are
translated into mutual antagonisms…”
“The real family ties are not those of blood then, but
those of mutual sympathy and the communion of ideas which hold spirits
together, before, during and after their incarnations.”
“From this it follows that two people born of
different parents may be more like brothers or sisters than if they were of the
same blood. They can attract each other, search for each other and so feel
happy together; whereas two blood brothers may be repelled by each other, as is
frequently seen.”
“This moral problem is one that only Spiritism can
resolve through the explanation of the plurality of existences
[reincarnation].”
(Excerpt from Kardec’s The Gospel according to Spiritism, Ch.
14, translated from the French by Janet Duncan.)
