PRAYERS
Inspirationally
received by Julie L. Harper
Our thoughts, prayers, and love are not bound to earthly life. We
coexist with the spirit world all around us and are connected by universal
communication through thought.
Thoughts or prayers when powered or projected by strong emotion,
strengthens conviction. In other words, all of our thoughts with fervor are
projected into the spirit world and are heard by each intended recipient, if
permitted.
Sympathetic, or congenial spirits, return love, support, and
consolation, through assistance, seconding our intent, occurring by consent of
God's Will and the Divine Law.
Our thoughts and prayers may also be “heard” by nearby spirits
about us, and they may also receive understanding by our emanating emotions.
The spirit world is governed by the spiritual law of attraction,
so we must guard our thoughts and feelings as to not project and draw unwanted
influences.
We are never alone, and we may be comforted in knowing that our prayers
are heard and appropriately supported by the spirit world because of God's
blessings of love and justice.
May each of us recognize that life is the embodiment of eternal
blessings, so let us not forget our prayers of gratitude.
SUICIDE
Written by Yvonne Limoges
According to the Center of Disease Control www.cdc.gov/violenceprevention/suicide/
suicide has increased.
In my personal opinion, I believe overall, our
way of life has become too hectic. This, with life in general being difficult
and stressful, can cause great desperation among so many.
Here in the US, suffering are: those who work
too much; those who are desperate to find work; those who work but just barely
make ends meet; there are people who are homeless; those who do not have enough
to eat every day; young people under the stresses of growing up and dealing with
school plus other issues; those suffering domestic, sexual and/or child abuse; many
sick soldiers are returning from a war
environment; and many who suffer all kinds of disabilities and diseases which also
include drug addiction.
Mental health is as equally important as
physical health. People need to be able to feel less of a stigma in seeking
help for it.
In general, so many people suffer a basic lack
of both physical and mental health
care, especially due to cost and the lack of availability of places of treatment.
I believe society has a long way to go in providing
relief and dealing with these public health issues that affect ALL of us in one
form or another.
SUICIDE
– A SPIRITIST VIEWPOINT
Inspirationally received by Yvonne Limoges
The last thing a person
should do is put an end to their material life because it defeats the primary
purpose of progressing intellectually and morally, and from evolving. The
spirit requires merit in the material life aimed towards its perfection.
Life is sacred and God-given.
That is why the instinct of survival is the strongest one mankind has.
There are those that commit
suicide with more of a purposeful intent, and then there are those that are sick
with mental illness (typically not knowing what they do). The former are much
more responsible for their actions. In addition, there are some people who drive
others towards suicide.
All of these will be held accountable
for the life they have cut short, with their most intimate intent and circumstances measured perfectly by the Divine Law. They all will have to begin again, in
another material lifetime, in a manner appropriate to them, undergoing again
the same trials and tests.
The Creator is everywhere and
loves us all; and with our spirit guides, they always try to assist us in supporting
the trials and tests of life, but it is mankind that turns away from both.
Hopelessness and desperation take
over many. Some who suffer have no belief or faith. Some are very materialistic,
and therefore, when they find their life intolerable for whatever reason, seek
its ending.
What a surprise when finding they still exist in the spirit world;
some still feeling the same sufferings, haunted by images created by their own
thoughts. Many will be disoriented in the spirit world for having taken matters
into their own hands.
However, God and His Mercy, and
the good spirits, never abandon any souls in suffering. Pray for them!
(Note: this article does not address
those who may be terminally ill and/or are in a similar situation.)
FOR THOSE WHO HAVE
HURT US
Inspirationally received by Yvonne Limoges
We may have encountered people in our lives that seemed to
have hurt us to our very core.
And, that hurt may run so deep that it can consume us. It
can cause harm to our behavior in a way that inappropriately affects how we
carry on our daily life and how we interact with the people around us that we
love.
It may be because we are still experiencing feelings of
abandonment, disappointment, and/or despair due to that person(s).
However, we are the
only ones who have control over how long we will let that person or
persons have a destructive power over us and our lives.
In the end, we must strive to overcome that which is
affecting us and preventing us from getting on with our life. Doing this is
more beneficial for our soul and more productive for our life and its true
purpose.
We need to try and let go of negative emotions…
Each person is responsible for their own actions and if a
person has wronged us, they will be held accountable eventually due to the law
of cause and effect. We should feel sorry for them, and even go another step
further, by finally forgiving them… for Jesus taught us to “love our enemies.”
Each lifetime is full of a series of opportunities to learn,
so we can become strong.
Therefore, we must take advantage of them with courage, determination
and with love, OR when we return to
the spirit world we will discover that we will have still suffered, but without
advancing as much as we wanted to, in an existence we ourselves had requested
to undergo.
SPIRIT COMMUNICATION – No. 1
A Spirit
that was a victim of boredom - A
spirit asked to be prayed for at a spirit session in Bordeaux, France in 1862.
Q. What has induced
you to ask for prayers? A. I am
weary of wandering without an aim.
Q. Have you been long
in this situation?
A. About four hundred and eighty years.
Q. What did you do
upon the earth?
A. Nothing good.
Q. What is your
position among spirits?
A. I am among those who are the victims of ennui [boredom].
Q. But this does not
constitute a category.
A. Everything among us constitutes a category. Every
sensation meets with its similars, and this sympathy brings us together.
A. What could have
caused you the eternal ennui of which you complain?
Q. The consequences of an anterior existence. Ennui is the
child of idleness. I knew not how to employ the long succession of years I had
formerly passed upon the earth; and the consequences of my inactivity still
follow me in the spirit world.
The medium’s spirit guide relayed the following
comment: “…He is one of the lazy bones
of the spirit world, as he was in the world of men. We have brought him to you,
that you may try to draw him out of the apathy which is really a state of
suffering, and one which is often still more painful than a sharper pain, for
it may be prolonged indefinitely…”
“The spirits who seek a terrestrial existence only as an
amusement and to break the monotony of their spirit life are, for the most
part of this category; they go back into earthly life without any fixed
determination to cultivate goodness, and they have therefore to begin life,
over and over again, until at length,
they feel a sincere desire to advance.”
SPIRIT COMMUNICATION – No. 2
Our duties upon the earth:
“Man was created for activity; mental activity is the
essence of his nature; bodily activity is necessary to his well-being. Work,
therefore, incessantly; fulfill all your duties with zeal and perseverance, and
let your faith sustain you in everything that you have to do.”
“He who conscientiously accomplishes the most modest task, even
though it be classified as the lowest and meanest [humblest] according to your
social fictions, is a hundredfold nobler, in the sight of the Almighty, than he
who leaves to others the work which is incumbent on himself.”
“Duties are the rungs of the ladder by which we ascend to
the supreme degree. Be careful to miss none of them; and remember that you are
always surrounded by friends [in the spirit world] who hold out a helping hand
to those who put their trust in the Almighty.”
“Monod”
Formerly an eminent Protestant
Pastor of Paris
(The
two spirit communications are from Part 2 of Chapter VII from Kardec’s book Heaven and Hell and translated from the
French by Anna Blackwell.)
DON’T FORGET!
A
Spirit Communication
“…Remember, during your exile here on Earth, you have a mission to
fulfill that you do not even suspect; be it dedicating yourself to your family
or fulfilling the various obligations bestowed upon you by God…”
(From Kardec’s the Gospel According to Spiritism in Chapter 5 and translated from the
French by Janet Duncan.)
A FAST PACED LIFE
Inspirationally
received by Alysia Pape
It seems to me people run around in a fast pace.
People seem to overreach to handle what they need to do, in
one average day.
I watch people doing their errands, and they do rude and
sometimes thoughtless things to accomplish whatever it is they think they have
to do.
Some drive dangerously fast and
irresponsible to get to their destinations. Some become so stressed that they
get into fights over a parking space, or do not stop in the slightest, at stop
signs or stop lights. Some will even drive through a red light, after they know
the red light camera has taken their picture at the intersection!
After watching some of these
people, not only do they appear very stressed, but underneath they seem
unhappy, sad, depressed; perhaps even look confused and lost. I believe many
people today overfill their plates, in order to avoid things they should be
paying attention to, or to mask feeling anything.
People seem to have replaced
patience, kindness, understanding and being polite, with mistrust, hate,
aggression and selfishness.
People need reminders. Open the
door for someone, let someone with fewer items go ahead of you in the checkout line,
leave early enough to make it there without cutting off every other person and
running red lights. So be one of those to set examples.
Also, it is important to feel, no matter what the feeling
might be, not even to be saved from pain. If blocked off, there can be no joy.
Don't hide, burdened and blinded with stress.
Stop, take a deep breath, and
look around. There are many things you are missing.
“ME”
Written by Jim Settles
Oh what magic, lies just
beyond
That special night, as sleep
came on.
That misty veil, fluorescent
white,
Illumed my way to wondrous
sights.
Before I stirred and began to
wake
Something happened, especially
great.
I must remember, can’t recall,
Dawn now crawled upon my wall,
I began to feel my memory
slide
My body felt so good inside.
Then all of a sudden I began
to see
The “I” magnificence, radiant
“ME.”
THE WORLD
Written by Narciso Trevilatto
We hope
the world will get better… yet we do not improve ourselves.
Change must become evident within us first.
