On troublesome days, with many chores and worries; all this can make us lose a bit of contact with Nature, with the simplest things in life.

The year begins and before we realize it, we are already into March, June ... And for all that time - because it has been so long - we did not look at the starry sky, a sunset, or listen to a bird sing ...

Lost time, we say, when in fact we missed an opportunity. And who is able to create opportunities…no one, only us.

Contact with Nature renews our strength, offers moments of reflection, with much clearer and simpler thoughts...

All this is good for the soul and body. Human beings need to constantly recharge their energies and God gave us such diverse sources of inexhaustible resources.

A slow walk around the block, a day in the country with no start or finish time, playing with the children...

A surprise dinner for two, a visit to a loved one, a weekend without TV or Internet ...

We cannot just let ourselves be consumed by the modern world and its anxieties.

Life is so much more then getting up, working, eating, enjoy small pleasures, then sleep ...

We are here on Earth with very clear and noble objectives. We are here to grow, to transform us into good people through love.

If we forget that, we become drowned in a thousand chores, always doing something - no time for anything, no matter however empty, sad, or depressed.

So be sure to look at the moon, look at the stars and marvel at them.

Do not become detached, body and soul, from those you love; be sure to observe Nature and always listen to what she has to say.

Even if but for a few minutes a day, try to get away from your busy daily life, to find a quiet moment to mentally reflect, to enjoy Nature, pray and elevate your thoughts to the Creator. You are a soul, and need spiritual recharging…!

For me, reincarnation truly explains the many inequalities of life and the terrible things that happen to good people, while also in accordance with a Creator that is All Just and Love, and All Powerful and Knowing.
Some people tend to focus on the “negative side” of reincarnation – the suffering (the effects of our own acts), and forgetting and taking for granted, the many benefits we receive due to our good thoughts, words and deeds.
God, of course, forgives us no matter what we do, but Divine Justice must play out according to the Law of Cause and Effect – a Divine Law.
Even the spirit of “Silver Birch” (who also taught reincarnation) said, “Sometimes I have wept tears because I have seen suffering, and I knew I must not help. That is the Law.” [1] He knew that suffering has a Divine purpose. Lessons!
Numerous spirits at ours and at other mediumship spirit sessions have communicated to say they knew what trials they had chosen prior to incarnating because they wanted to make amends. Their guilt was overwhelming and they wanted to set things right in a new material existence.
But, let us look at a brighter side to reincarnation – that of a myriad of new opportunities!
We can be young again; experience romance anew; take a different path in life; explore numerous other occupations. We can make better life choices; mend a betrayal; explore a new planet (perhaps a better one, if we deserve it); and, pick a different body! Live in a different place, and be in a different time! The possibilities are endless! All these are wonderful prospects for increased intellectual wisdom, and moral and spiritual growth.
We have already acquired much in past lives, but some of this knowledge is temporarily blocked from us while we are here in the material world (that is why people are at different levels of intellect, morality and have different interests here on earth).
However, when we return to the spirit world, we will regain ALL that we have acquired and be fully ourselves as a spirit, a compilation of all our experiences and knowledge from all our past lives.
Life is learning, growth, progress and evolution – and reincarnation is part of life’s Divine Plan.

Most of the time people pray for things in their lives to go well or for people not to be harmed. They pray for their families and friends, things they think they need and want in their own life and for their future.
Sometimes it is forgotten that people are not the only things that need prayer. There are all types of spirits that watch over many different things. There are spirits that watch over animals, the land, air and water, countries, and even the entire planet.
I would like to remind you to pray for our planet in some way, and for the leaders of this world. Pray that we do not ruin our planet and pray that our leaders do what is right. Try not to forget the small things in life like animals, or larger things like countries in ruin, when you are praying. So, everyone benefits from a peaceful and good environment to live in.

As a Spiritist center we have mediumship sessions and numerous spirits in various conditions communicate and we learn many lessons.
Recently, a spirit communicated through one of our mediums and stated that he wanted to share his experience with us. And since he wanted to share his situation as a lesson, I feel I can share his story.
He stated he was killed by his sister in his last existence, because he had killed her entire family in a previous lifetime. He seemed remorseful regarding what he had done. Now, he expressed great concern in his efforts trying to reconcile with her while still in the spirit world, about his horrific actions.
He indicated that she may incarnate as his mother in a new upcoming material existence, and he hoped that there would not be a repeat of the same violence towards him. He seemed doubtful.
(NOTE: Many wonder why some people, not likely to commit acts of violence, may do so. However, we do not know what events in past existences may prompt person to unfortunately act out in vengeance because their spirit has an intuition of wrongs done to them in past lives of which we know nothing about. - Y.L.)

The governing laws of all systems (material and spiritual)…are perfect, our difficulty in being bound by and understanding them is up to us; unfortunately, war, violence, and destruction that we still foster around the planet, bring us sorrowful readjustments…[due to cause & effect]
                           Written by Julie L. Harper
Humans are just that – human: beings of earth in need of growth and progression. We are far from perfect with egos that can lead us down a wrongful path if not kept in check. Many people focus on personal gain and forget or ignore God’s mandate to grow responsibly by moral actions. Earthly visions and egotistical desires are short sighted and blinded to the realities of God’s true blessings.
Man’s misguided actions may bring temporary joy, but only motives based in love will produce true and lasting happiness. Many people learn the hard way that wrong always rights itself by God’s infallible just laws. God’s truths always prevail! Spiritual truths are thereby our reality. All else is a by-product of humanity allowed by God so that we may learn through mistakes.
To live by love influences a change from an erroneous earthly world to reflect one of spiritual truth. A return to faith and love is the correct path to create what is truly real; that which our Creator intends. Mankind can create personal and collective harmony only through reverence to God’s Will.

                  Written by Narciso Trevilatto

Our pride, fear, envy, jealousy, vanity, exaggerated emotions and other feelings that nourish our ignorance, causing imbalances can generate feelings of loss, isolation and even depression. Through heartfelt prayer and acts of charity, we can feed our FAITH and change our [spiritual inner] attunement.

(The bottom two articles by Mr. Trevilatto translated from the Portuguese by Yvonne Limoges.)

Spiritism was a word created by Allan Kardec to designate a new spiritualist doctrine, sharing with other schools the idea of God, the existence of spirits, the immortality of the soul, reincarnation, particularized in this knowledge, the possibility of evocation and dialogue with disembodied spirits and prioritizes moral transcendence of the Divine Laws governing evolution.
Access to the knowledge of Spiritism, is a task that requires time, analysis, reflection, because it is a knowledge that is incorporated in our intellect, but also invades our feelings and is projected into our actions.
There is something else that we know about life and death that essentially creates a lifestyle, a way of analyzing conscious evolution.
It is an existential philosophy that allows us to address everyday problems, trying to find the why of life, pain, individual differences, to tell if someone picks up our efforts, if God exists and  manifests, to discover the motive of progress, the evolutionary mechanisms of the Divine Laws; therefore, the transcendent goal of  incarnation...
Knowledge of our personality is learning that takes our whole existence. There is always something to improve, strengthen, discover or forgive. One needs to be aware of the responsibility and commitment we have for evolution in the present existence for the opportunity to excel, to learn, to gain experience, to compensate for the past, and thank the possibility of life and progress, despite setbacks, pain - moral and material - we must go through. Because that's where we, spirits, become wiser, stronger, more humble, more supportive, and we consciously work within the great harmonic plan of Creation.
(Excerpt from an Editorial in December 2012 magazine Progress by the International Association for the Advancement of Spiritism in Spain, into English from Spanish by Yvonne Limoges.)
“If the Divine Law obliges us to suffer – because nothing occurs in Creation without just cause – all Spiritists should persist in seizing within them the greatest of calmness and serenity. We know it is of great benefit for us, and that the propitious hour has arrived to test if Spiritism has truly taken root within us, or whether the belief that we have is only a superficial one.”
